The third kind of magnet is an electromagnet. These magnets only produce an electric field when electricity is traveling through their wire coils.
Besides having three different kinds of magnets, there are different materials that can be used in the construction of them. The common fridge magnet is made from ceramic. You will also find these kinds of magnets in many school science classrooms around the world. They contain iron oxide in a ceramic composite. These kinds of magnets aren’t very strong. Alnico magnets are made from aluminum, nickel and cobalt. Unlike ceramic magnets, these ones are actually much stronger but still don’t come anywhere near the power from rare-earth metal magnets. Rare-earth metal magnets fall into two groups; neodymium and samarium cobalt. These two groups of magnets offer the strongest magnetic fields known to this day.
So just how do magnets work? Magnets do what they do thanks to all of the magnetic domains within ferromagnetic materials, like iron, cobalt and nickel, pointing in the same direction. A magnetic domain is basically a small magnet in itself. Usually, the domains in these materials are not pointing in the same direction and they cancel each other out. The higher the number of these domains that point in the same direction, the stronger the magnetic field of the magnet is. This is essentially how a magnet works and why it creates a magnetic field.
Magnetic generators rely entirely on the magnetic field produced by magnets. It is this magnetic field that allows magnetic power generators to create electricity using a source of energy that doesn’t pollute or produce large amounts of harmful by products. With oil prices rising everyday, and no limit seen in sight, it seems high time that people as a whole began serious discussion of alternative fuels and more efficient use of the fuel that we do have. The problem is that for a number of reasons, valid information has been blocked and kept out of the public eye for too long. Converting a car to run on water is just a small example. Now, before you throw the laws of thermodynamics around and tell me it is an impossibility, I want to assure you that the vehicle will not run on water, rather water will be utilized to make the engine more efficient. Considering the average gasoline engine only achieves approximately 20% efficiency, there is plenty of room for improvement, and any improvement translates directly to money saved at the pump.
So, you are probably wondering if converting a car to run on water is an actual possibility. In order to understand how it could work, you first have to understand how an internal combustion engine works. An internal combustion engine relies on compression of atmospheric air to burn gasoline in the combustion chamber. The pressure wave caused by the expansion of the combustion by-products are what drive the piston up. The movement of the piston is what turns a crank shaft which is translated into circular motion of the axles. During this series of events, a lot of energy is lost in the form of heat and sound, and even more energy is lost in the form of incompletely burnt gasoline. This is where the catalytic converter comes in. The catalytic converter actually burns the unburnt fuel that escapes along with the exhaust. If you were following along closely, you would realize that the average gas engine actually expends more energy burning the unburnt fuel that was meant to drive the car. Not efficient at all! It is no wonder the average fuel efficiency of an internal combustion engine is only 20%.
The important question now is, how can we as the consumers who are getting the short end of the stick modify these inefficient engines to gain more out of the precious gasoline we pay top dollar for everyday. We could invest in expensive hybrid vehicles, and yes, we would save some money. The problem is that the hybrids are rather expensive and would take years for us to get the return on investment. The other option is modifying the engines we already have in our inefficient vehicles to get higher fuel efficiency. Converting a car to run on water is exactly what this is about.
Through an electrolytic process, we sap some of the engines power in the form of electrical energy to break water down into hydrogen and oxygen. We then feed these two gases into the air intake. The result is a better oxygen fuel ratio and a more complete burn. The increased efficiency and savings are a by-product of a more efficient burn, not from the power derived from the hydrogen and oxygen itself.

What is Renewable Energy?
This energy source has been used in many ways, but it has been taking for granted many years now. We usually don’t stop and think about these daily little miracles happening all around us. For instance the sunlight does wonderful things us. Sunlight helps us to grow our plants, fruits and vegetables. You can dry your clothes outside in the sun and white clothes even become whiter with sun rays. Not only sunshine is seen as one of new sources of energy. The water we use for recreational purposes like kayaking can be used otherwise. This flowing water can also be used to generate energy.

All these mentioned energy sources are free to use to every one. Sunlight is available during the day and wind is available day and night. Flowing water can be more difficult to make use of because it is not available for every one. The availability of these sources depends where you live. You have to make sure you use the source that is applicable for your personal situation and can even combine several sources together to make the most of it. Although the sources are free, the devices used to convert these energy sources into usable energy for our homes are not. But nearly for all budgets there is a solution.

The traditional fossil energy sources such as coal and oil produce energy by means of combustion or burning fossil fuels. These sources work by directly converting the energy into useful forms. Sunlight is directly converted into electricity which can be used instantly.
Why do we need it?

The green movement has created a plethora of buzzwords. One of the more popular phrases is renewable energy. And for good reason. Businesses, traditional and emerging, will soon be affected by how they will respond to the reality of renewable energy depending on where they fall in the supply chain.
Renewable energy is a term that refers to those potential sources of energy that are naturally replenished, which means that using them does not decrease the amount available in the future. This contrasts with nonrenewable sources (fossil-based fuels) that have a limited supply and will eventually be used up. Renewable energy sources include sunlight, hydrosphere/water cycle, geothermal and some types of biomass and biofuels. Think of energy as a source and electricity as an application.
The mechanisms used to generate electricity from these sources vary considerably. For sunlight, there are photovoltaic technologies that generate electricity directly from sunlight. But there are also systems that use the sunlight to heat an intermediate fluid, which is used to turn turbines to generate electricity. There are multiple ways that water can be used to provide electricity, of which the most commonly used is the hydroelectric dam.
Other systems that produce electricity from water include wave power systems that convert the kinetic energy of waves into electricity, tidal power systems that use the kinetic energy of tidal flows in a similar fashion, and systems that take advantage of the temperature differences between surface waters and deeper waters in the ocean to generate electricity. Geothermal systems rely on the heat of the earth’s interior to generate electricity in various ways, depending on the specific nature of the site. Biomass and biofuels consist of fuels derived from plant and other organic matter, which are renewable depending on the sustainability of the agricultural practices that provide the biomass. Examples include ethanol and biodiesel liquid fuels for transportation, and solid biomass from unused portions of other crops for electricity generation.
Presently, renewable energy sources provide only a small fraction of global energy production, and the majority of this is from biomass burning such a wood (which while renewable in the strictest sense is not environmentally friendly) in undeveloped regions of the world. Renewable energy provides less than 1% of the world’s energy production even though its use is expected to grow rapidly amid rising concerns about global warming and the rising price of oil.
The biggest impediment to the widespread use of renewable energy sources in the past has been its price compared to the price of coal, natural gas, and petroleum. At present, wind energy costs $0.04-$0.08 per kWh, while coal costs $0.04 per kWh. Other renewable energy sources are even more expensive, such as solar thermal at $0.12-$0.34 per kWh and solar photovoltaic at $0.25-$1.60 per kWh. Water sources vary in cost from being cheaper than coal to costing three times as much. This cost differential, however, is narrowing as the price of oil rises and new technological innovations are bringing down the prices of renewables.
Looking forward, the increasing likelihood of carbon taxes or emissions trading schemes being implemented in much of the developed world means that the cost of generating electricity from coal, natural gas, and petroleum will rise even more precipitously, which will make renewable energy even more attractive for future development.
The future of renewable energy depends on how government energy policy will develop over the course of the next presidential administration and congress. Will carbon taxes or emissions trading schemes be enacted to limit greenhouse gas emissions? Will green grid technologies become widespread? Will the development of new oil supplies be allowed? All of these possible scenarios will affect the future deployment of renewable energy technologies.
As an example, consider the application of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems. Not only will these systems provide electricity to homes and businesses, but they can even be used to sell energy back to the power utility. Farmers and ranchers can plant wind turbines on land unsuitable for growing crops. The widespread use of smart grid technologies can become a major method of decentralizing power generation.
Similarly, if emissions trading schemes are enacted, then the rising cost of carbon-producing energy sources will force a shift to renewable energy technologies for large portions of our energy needs. This is deemed so likely that many believe that renewable energy technologies will be the next major industrial boom, similar to the computer technology revolution of the 1980s and the internet revolution of the late 1990s. Increasingly, large quantities of venture capital are pouring into renewable energy companies in expectation of just such an outcome.
How you position your firm to take advantage of the probable boom in renewable energy depends on your business’s energy needs and usage. If green grid technology becomes widespread, the opportunity presents itself to businesses to become both an electricity consumer and a supplier. If carbon taxes or emissions trading systems drive the move away from petroleum transport fuels to biomass transport fuels, it is important to be prepared for that as well.

One hot summer
afternoon, someone decided to test their craftsmen ship and take it upon themselves to make a homemade wind generator. It surprisingly took under $100 to make this wind generator. Where ever you look it seems that people are going green. They may try and drive using electric cars, or use natural methods of fertilizer or compost. There are even gardeners who use only organic products and tools in their garden. These organic gardeners will need gardening supplies
that are a little different from that of your ordinary gardener. Basically they will need an organic gardening supply to continue with their gardening efforts.
As an organic gardener you will of course need a shovel, a spade and a spading fork to dig the soil in your garden and prepare it for planting. Organic mulches are very similar in effect to pine needles and leaves that fall to the ground in forests. As organic mulches are of plant matter, they decompose over a period of time. This decomposed mulch helps to keep the soil moist and the plant roots cool, while keeping nutrients locked in.
There is always some pruning to be done in the garden. Rose bushes need to be cut back, especially if you want lots of big, beautiful flowers. A pair of good quality gardening shears or even a lopping shears can cut those large prickly rose stems cleanly without causing any disease causing breaks.
These however are the conventional gardening supplies that any gardener can use. For an organic gardener there are a few different items that need to be added to their organic gardening supply. Whereas the normal gardener has the choice of using chemical enhanced fertilizers the organic gardener can use bat guano or even worm castings.
With these organic fertilizers all that is needed is a couple of applications per month. Worm castings are the tunnels that are created as worms move through the soil. This movement not only breaks and loosens the soil, it also adds fertilizing nutrients to the soil. Organic fertilizers like these help to increase the growth and health of plants within your garden.
