In considering what other items can be recycled, clothes are likely to be dismissed in this respect. There are numerous uses for clothes. Discarded clothes for recycling are being used by companies to produce insulation for houses. As cotton is mainly used, insulating a home this way is safe and there is the added benefit that discarded clothes are not being taken to a landfill site. If you’ve got an old shirt, bear this in mind before throwing it away. The likely uses for an old shirt are numerous.
You have to bear in mind that virtually anything made out of glass, paper, plastic or metal is recyclable. In other words, you can recycle almost all of what you currently place in your normal rubbish.
